Social Engineering is the process of a hacker or con artist uses information that they can glean about you online or in other publicly accessible locations and then using that information to do harm to you using your identity or to trick others in your sphere (friends, family, vendors, clients, etc.).  Social engineering can be used in many scams including identity theft, credit theft, phishing attacks, and more.  Watch this video to learn more about social engineering and more importantly the steps you need to take to make you less vulnerable to these tactics.
